Il Corriere dello Sport reports that Napoli are keen to sign the 31-year-old, who is expected to leave Fiorentina.
Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino has stated that Mutu will not be handed a contract extension.
Mutu’s current contract is set to expire in 2012.
