Reports have suggested that Napoli have paid around €10million for the highly-rated defender.
The 25-year-old said: “I am very happy to be at Napoli. I am happy to join such a great team and I can make the step up in quality here.”
“Britos smiles like [Ezequiel] Lavezzi, he seems more like an Argentine than a Uruguayan,” said Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
“Our objective is to carry on working hard so we can take Napoli to being among the top European teams.”
Reports claim Britos has signed a five-year contract with Napoli.
