Neville played with Solskjaer at Manchester United for several years before joining Everton.
The 32-year-old said: “In training Jo reminds me of Ole. He’s quality.
“He hits everything so low and with such power that it is so hard for a keeper to deal with.
“You would never have thought a lad from Bury would strike up a rapport with a lad from Brazil but he’s been a breath of fresh air.
“There’s no doubt he can help us get to where we want to go.”
