Roeder said: “Nobby has been a wonderful signing for Newcastle United. I knew he was a good player before I ever worked with him, but my respect for him as a player has certainly increased since I have been working with him on a daily basis.
“The technical ability in his right foot is as good as anybody I have ever worked with, which allows his left foot to be basically redundant and for standing on.
“He can do everything with his right foot from the quality of his long-range passing to being able, when he plays in a more forward position, to score wonderful goals.”
