The Sunday Mirror reports that Newcastle are confident of signing Thauvin in a £12million deal this week.
Reports claim the Magpies have been chasing the 22-year-old winger all summer.
Thauvin is keen on a move to St James’ Park and if the deal goes through it will take Newcastle’s summer spend to £50million.
Thauvin will become the fifth signing of this window, following the arrival of Chancel Mbemba, Gini Wijnaldum, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Ivan Toney earlier this summer.
