Joelinton is keen on extending his stay at Newcastle United, contingent upon a wage increase to match the club’s highest earners, the Telegraph reports.
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe admitted in January concerns that the Brazilian midfielder might have seen his last days at the club due to a season-ending injury.
Joelinton’s contract is nearing its final year and reports had suggested that he could be sold this summer to avoid risking him leave for nothing next year.
But there has been recent positive discussions which suggest a brighter future for Joelinton at St James’ Park. The club appears optimistic about retaining his services beyond the summer.
