Tavano is close to the Spaniard, who has recently been linked with the likes of Newcastle United and Inter Milan.
“There were some teams interested,” Tavano said. “But Bojan has expressed a desire to stay. It could be an important year for him.
“He is ready at Roma, and very strong. I think there are foundations for both him and the team to do well.
“Were Inter interested? No, they were just rumours.”
