Simplicio scored one of the goals in the 2-1 over Parma in the Serie A.
The 30-year-old is expected to leave Palermo when his contract expires at the end of the season.
“It was really exciting to score that goal,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“It was even more because I netted it against the team that opened up the doors to the world for me. I’m sorry because Parma are still in my heart.
“But it was a crucial goal. I tried to make myself available to the coach and it showed on the pitch. I try and work well to help out the team.”
