The 30-year-old suffered the injury during the 1-1 draw with Serie A leaders Inter Milan.
Scans have revealed he strained the flexor muscle in his left thigh.
Palermo director of sport Walter Sabatini told TRM: “He is now dealing with a serious injury and I’m afraid we will lose him for over a month.”
