Tunnicliffe played a key role for the United side which won last season’s FA Youth Cup and is highly rated by manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Ferguson’s son Darren is manager at Peterborough and Sir Alex might decide to let the youngster leave on loan.
Posh director of football Barry Fry told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph: “Ryan Tunnicliffe is a player we are interested in and the manager is trying to secure his services for the season.”
