The 23-year-old will stay with Pompey on loan until the end of the season after the Premier League lifted Pompey’s transfer embargo on Tuesday.
Owusu-Abeyie have previously had loan spells with the likes of Celta Vigo, Cardiff and Birmingham.
The forward joined Spartak in January 2006.
