The 25-year-old is set to complete his move to Porto in the coming days.
Martinez has also been strongly linked with Premier League side Liverpool in recent months.
“Only small details remain, I understand they are finalising the details in the negotiations between Jaguares and Porto, but it’s not a done deal yet,” Martinez told Ojogo.
“Those small details take time to resolve, but my part is done, so the most likely thing is that I join FC Porto.
“Sooner or later we will be able to say I am a Porto player, but I’m still waiting. I’m eager for this challenge.
“I hope everything works out as it would be very good to play for Porto. My idea is to get there and develop even more as a player.”
