Pompey had a £2million bid for the Egyptian striker rejected by his club El Zamalek this summer.
But Sulaiman Al-Fahim who still has a place on the Pompey board, despite selling his majority stake in the club to Ali Al-Faraj, has held talks witht he former Wigan bad boy.
Al-Fahim said: “I am in advanced talks with Amr Zaki.”
