James has more than two years left on his current contract, but Redknapp is prepared to hand the former Liverpool goalkeeper a new deal.
Redknapp said: “David James will play for at least another four years in the Premier League – no danger.
“We want to keep him, because there’s no-one as good as him around. He’s so fit and agile, it’s unbelievable.”
