Belhadj almost joined Barca in January, but instead he chose to join Pompey.
But now Belhadj is keen on leaving the Premier League side in the summer.
He revealed: “I can confirm that there was an offer from Barca and I was very happy about it.
“However, I didn’t want to take the risk of living through the same situation I had with Lyon.
“Plus I wasn’t interested in merely a six month loan.
“One day I hope to go to Barca but when I go I want it to be in a position of strength.”
