Premiership trio chasing Blackburn striker

McCarthy is looking to leave Blackburn in the January transfer window after falling down the pecking order at Ewood Park.

“We have dealt with Blackburn well over the last three years and never had any problems. It is the same now, there is no problem with Benni,” Ivan Modia told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.

“We just want to talk to John Williams or Sam Allardyce over the next couple of weeks to find out their plans for Benni. We don’t know whether they intend to sell him or not.

“Benni just wants to be playing to help his chances of playing in the World Cup. If he is going to get that chance at Blackburn, of course he is happy to stay.

“There are three Premier League clubs and clubs abroad who we know are interested in him though. Whatever happens we are sure it will be best for all parties involved.”
