The West Brom goalkeeper will stay on loan at Preston until the end of the season.
Lindegaard joined West Brom from Manchester United on a free transfer in the summer of 2015.
He told Preston’s official website: “The last couple of years have been a long dry walk in the desert and I need to get back playing and that feeling of happiness and enjoyment it brings with it. I have been really missing it, so I am really looking forward to this.
“I am only here for six months at the moment, but you want to be part of an ambitious project and from what I have heard from the manager and other people at the Club it is an ambitious project and that is a very good thing.”
The 31-year-old Dane has struggled to find first-team opportunities with the Baggies and was behind Ben Foster and Boaz Myhill in the pecking order at the club.
