“We put in a decent first-half performance, passing the ball around well. We put pressure on their defence, created a number of chances and scored a goal,” Rutten said on the club’s official website.
“But we played low-tempo football after the break and were lucky to bag all three points in the end.
“Our keeper Andreas Isaksson pulled off an excellent save to keep us in the game and an RKC player missed a golden chance, with the goal at his mercy. The team needs time to gel.”
