TalkSPORT pundit and Manchester United fan Mark Goldbridge claims Erling Braut Haaland would not get into the Liverpool starting XI.
But Goldbridge admits that Manchester City’s Norwegian striker is the best striker in the Premier League and in the world.
“I think Erling Haaland is the best striker in the world. I would argue that with anyone, I think he is the best striker in the world,” Goldbridge said on Talk SPORT’s Alan Brazil and Gabriel Agbonlahor on their Breakfast show.
“But right here, right now, in this title race if you said to Jurgen Klopp ‘you can put Erling Haaland up front’, absolutely no chance!
“If anybody thinks different to that, that is fine. But based on what Liverpool do and how Liverpool play, Erling Haaland would not suit the way Liverpool play.
“Jurgen Klopp would not put him ahead of someone like Darwin Nunez for the simple reason Erling Haaland is a penalty box striker.
“He doesn’t hold the ball up, he doesn’t bring other people into play, he doesn’t win the ball, he doesn’t win many defensive duels, he is not particularly good at creating chances.
“You look at someone like [Diogo] Jota and Nunez, they are fundamental to how Liverpool play football.”
