Ballack has been told he is free to leave Leverkusen before his contract expires at the end of the season.
Leverkusen CEO Wolfgang Holzhauer said: “Our contract with Ballack runs until June 30. If he wants to get out early, we can certainly discuss that.”
Queens Park Rangers are keeping tabs on Ballack’s situation and could make a move for the veteran.
