He told the Evening Chronicle: “Andy has come on leaps and bounds over he last few months and deserves the acclaim.
“He has come into the first-team pool and taken to it really well.
“He has a massive future ahead of him and hopefully he can follow in the footsteps of the likes of Steven Taylor, Matty Pattison, Paul Huntington and before them Michael Chopra.
“All of these players have played in the reserves but Andy has actually got the potential to outdo us all.
“For 18 he’s such a big guy and he also has a really good touch about him.
“You can see how much of a threat he is in the air. He’s got a good eye for goal, he’s scored in the reserves and his next target will be to score in the first team, hopefully before the end of the season.”
