The 22-year-old strained a medical ligament whilst on loan at English League Two side Port Vale.
“It was reassuring to get confirmation of the extent of the problem and I’m hoping I will be back in six weeks,” said Little.
“I will be on crutches for a wee while and I will need a brace too but the work starts now about getting things sorted out.
“It’s a case of the injury healing and thankfully I’m working with great people at Murray Park so hopefully everything goes well.”
