Kebe signed a new deal after having met the club’s new owners, Thames Sports Investment, earlier today.
The new deal will keep the 28-year-old at Reading until the summer of 2014.
Royals manager Brian McDermott said: “I’m delighted that Jimmy has decided to sign a new deal with us.
“He believes in what we are trying to do here and he obviously feels Reading is the right club for him and that I am the right manager for him.”
