Real Madrid coach handed Uefa ban

Mourinho was handed the ban for reportedly instructing players to get deliberate red cards in order to serve suspensions in a meaningless game.

Alonso and Ramos, who got sent off in the win against Ajax, were also fined.

Goalkeeper Iker Casillas and Jerzy Dudek were also fined for apparantly passing on Mourinho’s orders to Alonso and Ramos.

A Uefa statement on Tuesday added: “An appeal may be lodged against the ruling within three days of the dispatch of the reasoning for the decision.”
