Spanish newspaper Marca has claimed that Real Madrid would make a €15million bid for the 21-year-old.
A Real Madrid Madrid statement read: “Given the information published about a supposed interest of our club to sign the player Mario Fernandes, Real Madrid CF denies that it has been in contact with his club and made an offer for the player’s rights.”
Fernandes’ current contract with Gremio is set to expire in 2014.
The midfielder has also been linked with the likes of Roma and CSKA Moscow.
