Real president Florentino Perez is keen on bringing in De Rossi if they fail to sign Xabi Alonso from Liverpool.
Reports claim Liverpool want around €47million fro Alonso but the Spanish club is not prepared that amount.
Real have already signed Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Raul Albiol this summer.
