Bruins has been available on a free transfer after having been released by Dutch giants Feyenoord.
The 24-year-old has signed a contract that will keep him with the Austrian Bundesliga side for the rest of the season.
“Luigi is always calm on the ball and never panics,” Red Bull coach Ricardo Moniz told Voetbal International.
“We need someone who can provide an assist from midfield and can score a goal himself as well.”
