Here are two of the big stories doing the rounds in the media:
Manchester United winning the race for Foals midfielder
According to many sources in the media, including Sky Sports Germany, Manchester United are winning the race to sign Monchengladbach’s highly-rated midfielder Denis Zakaria.
The 23-year-old has earned himself an ever-expanding reputation for his displays in the heart of the Gladbach midfield. The Switzerland international’s best position is seen as a defensive midfielder, although he can play at centre-back too, which could prove a useful asset to any team.
United are not alone in showing interest in the midfielder, though. The likes of Atletico Madrid, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund have also shown interest in the midfielder.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may consider Zakaria as a long-term replacement for Serbia international midfielder Nemanja Matic, who seems to be back in favour for now at least.
Arsenal chasing PSG full-back
The Daily Mirror are reporting that Arsenal are increasingly confident of landing PSG full-back Layvin Kurzawa on a free transfer this summer.
The 27-year-old will be a free agent this summer when his contract with the Parisians expires. The France international has found first-team football hard to come by with the big-spending PSG. Spanish international Juan Bernat currently stands in his way of regular action in the French capital.
The Gunners reportedly made a move for the left-back in the January transfer window. However, the club from north London were unwilling to pay PSG’s asking price in January.
Arsenal’s left-back options are youngsters Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac, while another youngster Bukayo Saka has also been filling in at times, despite him primarily being a winger. Kurzawa would prove to be a useful free summer addition to Arsenal squad.
