Spurs were 4-2 down in the 89th minute, but managed to score two goals and get a draw.
“It’s been a good week so far,” the former Portsmouth boss told Sky Sports.
“We had a great start on Sunday, then to show that character here was fantastic. There are some good players here.
“Certain parts let us down but when we have the ball we’re very good. Scoring four shows how good we are going forward.
“To come away with something was great… a real throwback to the old days.”
He added: “This is a great result for us – you’ll always take a point, especially in the situation we are in. But it’s another big game on Saturday.
“The dressing room is buzzing and we know we can give Liverpool a good game.”
