Hansson who was the ref, revealed that the match observer told him after the match that he should have given Scotland a second red card.
Hansson said: “I feel as though I refereed the game as fairly as possible and believe my card count fully reflected what went on in the game.
“Scotland were involved in more heavy challenges than the Ukraine and that is why I booked three players for them and only one from the Ukraine.
“In fact, when I spoke to the match observer after the game the only incident that he felt I could have viewed differently was the foul by Robbie Neilson.
“It was a very late, late tackle and the match observer felt that often that sort of offence merits a red.”
