Rekdal will be presented as new Kaiserslautern boss on Sunday, according to Kicker.
Rekdal has previously played for German side Hertha Berlin, but is now at charge at Belgian side Lierse. He has won the Norwegian championship while in charge for Valerenga.
Kaiserslautern are currently on 16th place in the German 2. Bundesliga.
