Riise backs Rafa to turn things around

The Reds are on their worst run since 1987, following four straight defeats.

Liverpool lost 2-1 at home to Lyon in the Champions League on Tuesday.

“I saw the Lyon game and see most of them, and there’s no doubt they are going through a tough patch,” said Riise. “Four losses in a run is not common.

“They will bounce back, they have a good squad, but when you’re missing key players it’s not easy.

“Gerrard and Torres are important to them but they will bounce back and the championship isn’t over yet.

“I think Liverpool have got a great squad. Most big teams rely on their best players, but when you go through a tough patch you need your players fit. But they will change.

“Mr Benitez is a tactical manager and he will find a solution, and hopefully Gerrard and Torres will come back soon.”
