The new deal will keep the 29-year-old at Morecambe until the summer of 2014.
Roche told Morecambe’s official website: “My current contract runs out in the summer and when the gaffer offered me a new deal there was no hesitations. It was just a case of putting pen to paper and moving on.
“I could have waited to the summer and seen what was on offer, but there was no point at all.
“I was always going to sign a deal if offered because I love it at Morecambe.
“The club is a really friendly one and there is a fantastic team spirit. We have a great set of lads here and I am really enjoying my football.”
