Owen’s contract with Newcastle expires on June 30 and several clubs have expressed their interest in the former Real Madrid striker.
The Daily Mirror says Owen will be forced to take a cut in his £100,000-a-week wages in order to join Roma.
Everton and Manchester City are also keen on signing Owen.
