The 21-year-old’s current contract at Sporting Gijon is set to expire in the summer of 2014, but the defender’s agent Alfredo Martinez has revealed that his client is closing in on a move to Roma.
“I don’t know if the deal will be completed today,” Angel’s agent Alfredo Martinez told Corriere dello Sport.
“I know that the two clubs are having meetings.
“Roma are in pole position to acquire him and this is a great opportunity for Jose Angel.
“The arrival of Luis Enrique can make the difference, but the most important thing is that we are talking about an historic club.”
