“Flamengo are in pole position,” Ronaldo declared. “But I don’t want me going there to be them doing me a favour.
“In January I will announce my decision, but I don’t want to play badly in the Maracana.
“My dream is to play for Flamengo because I have always been and always will be a fan.
“The real problem for me now is losing weight because at the moment I have 14 per cent body fat.
“When I started work with Flamengo I was at 16 per cent but an athlete shouldn’t be over 11.
“At the moment I’m a wounded soldier but I’m not dead. I won’t stop fighting and I want to return to the Brazilian national side.”
