Ronaldo was named Fifa’s World Player of the Year in Zurich on Monday night.
“What my team has done already is the pinnacle of my career and there is more to come,” said Ronaldo.
“We have already proved we are one of the best in the world and we are moving into position to defend what we have.
“In the Premier League we are in a good position and while we respect our opponents I believe we are going to win it.
“In the Champions League the level of performance is outstanding. Barcelona are playing great football and I like them. What they do in Spain is impressive. I am happy for Barcelona, but we want to stay No.1.
“I have won everything in 2008 with United and as an individual. I can now tell my family to set off the fireworks.”
