Rooney scored in the 3-0 win over Fulham last night at Old Trafford.
Rooney could have returned last week, but the club decided not to rush him back from injury.
“I feel good, maybe I could have played last week but I think the wise decision was not to play me and give me another few days training and then it would be a lot better and stronger,” Rooney told Sky Sports News.
“Yeah, I have scored a lot of them [close-range finishes] this season,” added Rooney. “In the last three games I have scored three goals all inside the six-yard box.
“It is something I have been working on, obviously Dimitar and Carlos like to play a bit deeper so I have had to change a little bit and thankfully I am getting the benefits of it now.”
