The new deal will keep Rooney at Old Trafford until the summer of 2015, according to the Daily Mirror.
Rooney will earn £130,000-a-week when he signs the deal and will become the highest-paid player in United’s history.
United chief executive David Gill is set to hold talks with Rooney and his agent when the England striker returns from his holiday in Barbados.
Both United and Rooney are keen to seal a deal as quickly as possible.
