The 23-year-old has long been linked with a move away from Rosenborg and has got only 18 months left on his current contract with the club.
“We know about the interest from Schalke and there has been some contact,” Rosenborg director Erik Hoftun told Adresseavisen.
“We have talked to Per about this. But an offer has to be good if it is to be accepted.”
