Salako told the Reading Evening Chronicle: “The players who people maybe thought would not be able to cope in the Premiership have been a revelation.
“Ibrahima Sonko, Ivar Ingimarsson and Marcus Hahnemann have been fantastic, as have Stephen Hunt and Glen Little.
“And I’m especially delighted for Kevin Doyle. He never stops running and gets into some great positions. He’s stepped up to the plate big-time and is proof that players from lower leagues can make it if they are given the right guidance.
“But it’s going to be tough to hold on to him. He has great feet and pace and I’m sure clubs will be looking at him.”
