The 27-year-old Mexico international have had an impressive first season in European football.
He said: “I like the English league but I want to go to a big club and be the best in my position.
“There aren’t too many Mexicans playing in Europe at the moment, but the ones that are there have done well, and maybe that could persuade other teams to look at Mexican players.
“Mexicans aren’t always taken into consideration because we are a little unknown. We have the quality to play in Europe but need the opportunity. In England I know that I can do well, but it has to be in a team that gives me the chance to play.”
Chelsea and Arsenal were both linked with moves for the defender last summer.
