Scholes has impressed for United since his return from retirement earlier this season.
Scholes has already been told that United chief executive David Gill and manager Sir Alex Ferguson will hold talks with him at the end of the season about a new deal.
“It’s early days and I’ve only played a few games but it’s going well,” said Scholes.
“I’m not looking too far ahead, but hopefully it was the right decision to come back. Time will tell.
“I realise I probably decided to finish too soon and I was missing it. I’m enjoying being back and hopefully the manager thinks I can still contribute something.”
