Semedo joined Sheffield Wednesday from Charlton for free in the summer and returned to the Valley for the first time on Monday nigth.
Wednesday managed a 1-1 draw against Semedo’s former club.
He told the club’s official website: “I was very happy to come back and see some of my old team-mates and ex-manager.
“It was great to see the fans. I have a lot of respect for them and it was good of them to applaud me like they did when I came off.
“We didn’t perform like we know we can in the first half, but we kept at it and got our rewards in the second half.
“I had a great time at Charlton, but I have joined another fantastic club. There are some great people here and I’m very happy at Sheffield Wednesday.”
