Sevilla progressed to the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey, following their 3-0 win over Malaga on Wednesday.
“Winning a game – albeit a cup game and in these circumstances – is important,” Manzano told Eurosport after the match. “We went through some bad times as there were a few games without a win, but now we have three consecutive victories.
“Let’s see if little by little we can grow in many ways. If Malaga had been successful when going forward, the match would have become difficult, but we managed to withstand their attacks, and walked away without conceding.
“In the second-half, when they were attacking, we played better in midfield and began to dominate the match. But once we scored the first goal, the tie went in our favour and the game became much easier.”
