The 20-year-old is expected to be out of action for two weeks with a thigh injury.
Costa picked up the injury in Shakhtar Donetsk’s 2-0 win over rivals Dynamo Kiev on Sunday.
A statement on the club’s official website said: “The injury is expected to keep the player out of action for two weeks.”
