Sibierski said: “We (his family) are very happy here. I know how the fans felt about me but I didn’t expect to feel as good as I do now about playing here.
“Many people told me bad things about Newcastle – bad weather, bad people – but the people are friendlier than they are in London or Manchester and the weather is nice and similar to Lille.
“It’s nice to know the manager wants to keep me. It’s a sign that I’m doing well. I always knew I had the quality to play for this club and it’s good to know that Newcastle want to keep me.”
