The Portugal international’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

He said: “We are champions of this competition and so it is a very important match. We have matches to go, and although it will be difficult, we need to try to get the 15 points that are at stake. We will fight to win.
“I feel very happy at Atletico Madrid, I feel like I’m starting again. I am out of contract at the end of the season, and although I’d like to stay I’m not thinking about that as I want to focus on the matches versus Bayer Leverkusen and Sevilla [their next La Liga match].”
