The 30-year-old has long been linked with a move away from the Serie A side and his contract is set to expire in the summer.
“It wouldn’t matter how good the offer was,” said his agent Gilmar Rinaldi.
“The fact that (president, Maurizio) Zamparini has not even mentioned anything to me has forced us to lose confidence in the club and end our relationship.
“We have decided to leave Palermo.
“There were several proposals to move now, but we have decided to stay in Sicily until the end of the season.
“Fabio’s adventure here has finished, but he doesn’t want to leave yet as he hopes to help the club achieve their targets.”
