Reports have suggested Aston Villa were in talks with the defender, but Koeman insists Fonte will not be leaving St Mary’s this summer.
“He is our captain, he is a very strong defender and he is a club man like Kelvin Davis,” said Koeman.
“I don’t think for one second think about selling him. He is our captain. There is no way we will sell him.”
